Day 10 - 9/13/07 - Vienna
We are really loving Vienna with it's great sights, hip people, and fun cafes. Today we walked around a section of Vienna's inner ring that we hadn't seen yet. Kartner Strasse is the main street through the tourist part of Vienna and we strolled up that past fancy stores and cafes. We ended up at Stevens Platz (plaza) in front of the famous St. Stephens cathedral. Beautiful inside and the stained glass at the alter was amazing.
We also saw the Hapsburg family tombs, which sounds kind of morbid, but was actually pretty cool. All the emperors, kings, and queens had their coffins in this underground musemum. The detail on the copper coffins was awesome. We compare the Hapsburgs to the Kennedys, but on steroids.
We also went to the Demel chocolate cafe, which is THE place to go in Vienna for chocolate. Try the cat tounges if you ever head there. Hit up Belvedere Palace on the outskirts of town, which was amazing as well.
Dinner was at an Italian restaurant on Kartner Strasse and we ended our night with a cocktail at the Adolf Loos designed American Bar. Cheesy name, fantastic place. The bartender was kind of a jackass, but the atmosphere was cool and the drinks great.
Vienna is a very livable and fun city. It surprised us and we'll be back. Tomorrow we catch the train to Prauge.

Hey guys-
